The Masters 2011

The Masters 2011 has seen some amazing play and some unexpected results. Charl Schwartzel found himself in contention for the prestigious green jacket going into the 15th hole on Sunday  at The Masters.

Charl Schwartzel turned professional golfer back in 2002 and has now claimed one of golfing's most prestigious titles, The Masters 2011 Championship Jacket. Entering the last 4 holes at 10-under par Charl Schwartzel managed to shoot out 4 straight Birdies which was enough to snuff the title away from Aussies Adam Scott and Jason Day, both finished two strokes behind Charl Schwartzel.

Going into The Masters ranked No 11 golfer in the world, Charl Schwartzel made a historic run exactly 50 years to the day that Gary Player became the first international player to win at Augusta.

Charl Schwartzel, the 3rd South African to have his name listed down with the previous champions has walked away from The Masters 2011 $1.44 million richer, which is $500k more than the prize at The Masters 2010. The total prize money for this year was $8 million split between 44 players with 44th place collecting a nice sum of $28k.

Tiger Woods, Luke Donald and Geoff Ogilvy finished tied for fourth.
